INTRODUCTION
MyCatholicDoctor Academy is an online health education platform operated by MyCatholicDoctor MSO, Inc., a Connecticut-based healthcare management services organization ("MyCatholicDoctor MSO," "we," "us," or "our"). We are committed to protecting the privacy of all users of MyCatholicDoctor Academy ("Academy").
This Privacy Policy describes what personal information we collect, how we use it, how it is shared, and what rights you have with respect to your information. It applies to all users of the Academy website and platform, including learners, course creators, and visitors.

SECTION 1 — IMPORTANT NOTICE: PLATFORM LIMITATIONS AND HEALTH INFORMATION
MYCATHOLICDOCTOR ACADEMY IS DELIVERED THROUGH THINKIFIC, A THIRD-PARTY LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM. THINKIFIC IS NOT A HIPAA-COMPLIANT PLATFORM.
This means:
(a) MyCatholicDoctor Academy and its underlying platform, Thinkific, are NOT covered entities or business associates under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) with respect to the Academy platform.
(b) Any personal health information, medical history, clinical details, or other protected health information (PHI) that you voluntarily share through MyCatholicDoctor Academy — including in course discussion forums, community features, assignment submissions, survey responses, or any other communication on the platform — IS NOT protected by HIPAA privacy and security rules on this platform.
(c) You should NOT share sensitive personal health information through any Academy platform feature, including but not limited to: discussion forum posts, written assignment submissions, survey responses, messages to instructors, or community discussions.
(d) MyCatholicDoctor MSO, Inc. cannot guarantee the privacy or security of any personal health information you choose to share through the Thinkific platform, and assumes no liability for any disclosure of such information.
(e) The fact that MyCatholicDoctor MSO, Inc. operates clinical healthcare services through separate affiliated entities (including My Catholic Doctor, P.L.L.C.) does not extend HIPAA protections to your use of MyCatholicDoctor Academy or the Thinkific platform.
This Platform Limitation applies regardless of whether you are also a patient of any MyCatholicDoctor-affiliated clinical practice. Your clinical care records held by MyCatholicDoctor-affiliated clinical entities are governed by separate HIPAA notices and privacy practices applicable to those clinical services — not by this Privacy Policy.

SECTION 2 — WHAT INFORMATION WE COLLECT AND HOW WE USE IT
When you create an account, enroll in a course, or otherwise use MyCatholicDoctor Academy, we collect the following categories of personal information:
Account and enrollment information: Your name, email address, and account credentials provided when you register for the Academy.
Purchase information: Billing name, payment method details (processed by our third-party payment processor — see Section 5), and purchase history.
Course activity and progress data: Information about the courses you enroll in, your lesson completion progress, quiz and assessment results, and course completion status.
User-generated content: Any content you voluntarily submit through the platform, including discussion forum posts, assignment submissions, survey responses, and course reviews. Please see Section 1 regarding health information.
Device and technical information: Device type, operating system version, browser type, IP address, and session information collected automatically when you use the platform, to support platform functionality and improve your experience.
Communications: Records of communications you send to MyCatholicDoctor Academy support or instructors through the platform.
We use this information to:
— Operate and maintain your Academy account and course enrollments;
— Process course purchases and manage billing;
— Deliver course content and track your learning progress;
— Issue course completion certificates;
— Communicate with you about your account, courses, and Academy updates;
— Send educational and promotional emails about Academy courses and services (see Section 3);
— Improve platform performance and the learner experience;
— Comply with applicable legal obligations.

SECTION 3 — EMAIL COMMUNICATIONS AND MARKETING
We may send you emails about your account, course enrollments, new Academy courses, related services, platform updates, and other communications relevant to your use of MyCatholicDoctor Academy. We may also survey you about your learning experience.
When you provide your email address in connection with creating an account or enrolling in a course, you consent to receiving transactional and course-related communications. Marketing communications will include an option to unsubscribe.
How to withdraw consent: If you no longer wish to receive marketing communications from MyCatholicDoctor Academy, you may unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or by contacting us at [email protected]. Please note that opting out of marketing emails does not affect transactional communications related to your account or active enrollments.

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:
Service providers: We share information with third-party service providers who assist us in operating the Academy platform, processing payments, delivering email communications, and analyzing platform performance. Thinkific (learning management system): MyCatholicDoctor Academy is built on and delivered through Thinkific. Your account data, course activity, and any content you post on the platform are stored on Thinkific's systems and are subject to Thinkific's Privacy Policy, available at thinkific.com. We encourage you to review Thinkific's privacy practices.
Payment processors: Payment transactions are processed by third-party payment processors (see Section 5). We do not store full payment card information on our systems.
Course instructors: Course instructors may have access to learner progress data, assignment submissions, and discussion posts within their own courses, to the extent necessary to facilitate course delivery and respond to learner questions.
Legal requirements: We may disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or in response to a valid legal request, such as a court order, subpoena, or government investigation.
Business transfers: If MyCatholicDoctor MSO, Inc. is acquired, merged, or undergoes a significant organizational change, your information may be transferred to the successor entity, subject to the same privacy commitments described in this Policy.
We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own independent marketing purposes without your explicit consent.

Cookies and tracking technologies: MyCatholicDoctor Academy uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to recognize your device, maintain your session, and provide a personalized learning experience. We may also use automated tracking methods to measure platform performance and learner engagement.

Do Not Track: Because there is no consistent industry standard for responding to "Do Not Track" signals, we do not alter our data collection practices in response to such signals from your browser.
